Do it with passion or don’t do it at all! I was looking for a secluded place during the chaotic May-June 2022 and I was not even willing to compromise with the mesmerizing beauty of Himachal Pradesh. That's when Shangarh happened to me. This place is meant for nature lovers who aren’t bothered about much of luxury. Shangarh is located in Sainj Valley, Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh state in North India. Bijli Mahadev As the name suggest Bijli referred to lightning bolts, while Mahadev referred to lord Shiva, before proceeding further I would like to park journey for a while and discuss about the history of this temple, it is said that there was a demon who use to harm living beings at this place hence lord Shiva killed him to protect the society, and the size of the demon was so huge that it got converted into a hill after his death.  There is a belief that lightning bolts destroy the Shiva Linga after every 12 years, as per the request made by Lord Shiva to Lord Indra, and the priest uses butter to reattach the Shiva Linga.  The Journey  Resuming back to the journey, this holy temple is located at an elevation of 2460 meters, located at a distance of around 22 kilometers from Kullu city of Himachal Pradesh state in Indian mainland.
