Thailand - Land full of surprises

Thailand - The land full of surprises. That was my first International trip by air since i had just crossed my feets till Nepal beyond my motherland prior to this trip but that too by land transport. On August 19th of 2017 we were all set to depart from New Delhi IGI airport and i was damn excited since that was my first international flight and that too with international carrier (Thai Air).

I was enthusiastic while i reached airport. I met my friend over there and then we proceed towards Thai Air kiosk for check in formalities. All of sudden my excitement turned into nervousness while i approach Thai Air representative for my boarding pass. He said that i have to meet customs officer since customs department has suspected my name along with 2 other passengers among 236 scheduled passengers in entire flight. I was like "Do i seriously looks like a criminal". Then customs officer ask me lot of questions, Scanned my baggage again then he finally gave me clearance after 30 minutes meeting.

Yippee Now i was excited once again. Then we proceeded towards boarding gate and you know what Thailand not

started after landing there it started from the moment we step in aircraft. Since warm welcome in Thai tradition along with Thai food and Drinks were started the moment we step in aircraft. That was actually a good lesson - If you are going for an International trip you should reserve your tickets in airline which belong to host country in order to explore their culture and feel like you have reach there from your home country's airport itself.

Then we landed Bangkok in the late evening. we just explored nearby traditional Thai night flea market and went for sleep after having Thai street food.

Day 2 (20th August) - Our taxi came to pick us after delicious buffet breakfast. Then we went to Ko Samet - Its a beautiful island located in the Gulf of Thailand and separated from the mainland. We spent 4 hours on road and 1 hour in Ferry in order to reach there and exploring Highways and Waterways enroute was speechless experience. We were the only Indians on the entire island since Ko Samet is popular among European tourists and the Natural beauty, Cool wind, Sea facing cottage, Jacuzzi

surrounded by Sea from 3 sides, Hospitality, Sea side traditional Thai massage was a kind of experience which cannot be expressed in words.

Day 3 (21st August) - I was able to see the waves at seashore right after opening my eyes from my bed itself. Nothing can be better than this. Then we went for Scuba diving - there we explored marine life in the crystal clear water of Gulf of Thailand. Post having lunch we left Island with bunch of unforgettable memories. Then we spended rest of the evening at Jomtien beach followed by Jomtien Night market.

Day 4 (22nd August) - The sight seeing day started from Underwater world - World of marine life. This place makes you feel like you are floating inside the sea along with marine creatures. Marine feeding show is a must watch once you are in underwater world. Then we proceeded towards Floating market where we get lot of surprises (Combined ticket) starting from the Small boat which allow us to explore canal then big boat took us from water to the land - it's a convertible boat with wheels. Then we enjoyed traditional Thai monkey

show, Thai boxing show, Shopping and Thai cuisine on the shore of Floating Market followed by Zipline adventure activity.

Day 5 (23rd August) - Post having breakfast we proceeded towards Ko Phai Island which is also situated in different direction of Gulf of Thailand. We had to spend 90 minutes in yacht in order to reach Island. Amazing weather and Rainfall enroute made our day. Post reaching Island we hired a Yamaha Jetski and it was an another awesome experience to ride Jetski without presence of operator which is very hard to find in India. But my friend become victim of a scam while riding Jetski since his Jetski touch another boat slightly and the owner of Jetski started claiming 4000 Bahts for the damage - which was not even visible. After having argument of 90 minutes we settled deal for 1300 Bhats. Then without spoiling our vacation mood we hired water tube and went inside crystal clear water at sea shore. Post enjoying at Island we proceeded towards Bangkok at late evening since i was willing to enjoy every moment of next day from the very beginning.

Day 6 (24th August) - Yes

that was my Birthday. We started our day with Indian Breakfast then we went for City visit. Starting from Railway Station - Must watch if you are in Bangkok, Canal visit - It's better to commute through tourist or local boat in order to enjoy the panoramic views of the city, Wat arun temple - Located on the shore of canal, You can see the entire city from top of the temple. Then we took another Ferry towards City Palace but unfortunately palace was closed since entry to visit palace close at 03:30 PM and we reached there at 03:40 PM. Then as per our itinerary we took next ferry towards China market - Where we enjoyed Chinese food then we went to adjoining Indian market - Where we had visited Gurudwara Sahib ji. Then we went to an Indian restaurant since i was missing Indian food then after having conversation of around 30 minutes the Indian owner of restaurant become my friend and arranged milk cake for my birthday celebration which was an amazing experience.

Then my new friend suggested me to visit khao san market in Bangkok - I can say it was a kind

of next level of Delhi Pahad ganj market and market was full of only Chinese and European tourists. I would say its one of best place to spend evening or to have dinner in Bangkok.

Day 7 (25th August) - My friends were feeling sleepy so i decided to solely explore the city. I went to Terminal 21 shopping mall where each floor of mall has created on theme of different city like San Francisco at one floor, Istanbul at another floor, although top floor is reserved for Thai food court where i enjoyed yummy traditional Thai Breakfast. After buying some stuff for family and friends i realized that i have to catch flight back to home so i put a big stone on my heart and proceeded towards Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport in order to catch my flight back to home. The moment i landed in Delhi i heard about riots happening in Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. I become little worried since i was not aware about road conditions in Delhi but i still took a cab and reached home safely and the memorable trip comes to an end.
